Look like you and I got a rare tractor each. Yours Bolens and my Ford 100!

I would really love to know how many Bolens were exported to the UK and overseas. Maybe Howard's, the importer, may have some records ?

That big shiny engine is a fully restored K532 for my HT20. That has the wrong engine in it & been hunting for years for a replacement. Dave was going to refit it in the HT20 hes currently restoring but changed his mind & fitted a brand new lump.

Also had another K532 for parts & couple of wisconsins parts doners.

Shot of the engine. It turns but the plug next to the exhaust has been out for some time which I a bit worrying. For now I have just poured oil down the bore.

The other side seems OK after popping the head off for a look. Piston moves & valves move also

The wiring has been messed with also. The dash is cracked & the throttle control is totaly missing.

The PTO shaft & pully on front axle is also missing.... maybe bearings went & PO just gave up???

I have a scrap HT20 which should yeid some parts etc

Right! What I was asking is how we can tell the difference. Assuming you are correct, Jerome, that the -01 HT23'a were made in both 1970 and 1980. I have several -01 HT23's and would like to know how to tell that they were made in 1979 or 1980

Sorry misunderstood your post.

You need to date the engine.

There is not a difference from year 1979 2389-01 to 1980 2389-01.  But there is a difference from the  01 to the 02
