I now have an HT23 in my bolens fleet  .

I done a deal with fellow collector Dave in the UK in which he took my brantley back hoe for his collection & I had one of his HT23 tractors c/w deck, various engines & wheel weights.

It needs plenty of love but for now its in the back of the store waiting its turn

Can anybody date it from the serial number please?? If you can read it!! Pic is up side down!!

On the basis of the Serial No. starting with a "2" I am guessing that your HT23 is a 1980 model.

Doug it should be a 1981 1982 or 1983 but by the serial it a 1981.

So the -01 HT23's were made in both 1979 & 1980?

Yes.

How do you tell the difference between them, then? Or is that impossible?

I have the factory engineering changes for the HT23 and HT23s.

Very nice addition to your fleet Chris, I hope you get the chance to get it up and running soon. Looking forward to seeing it.

I doubt that is the answer he was looking for.

How about letting him/us know just what those engineering notes say?

Right! What I was asking is how we can tell the difference. Assuming you are correct, Jerome, that the -01 HT23'a were made in both 1970 and 1980. I have several -01 HT23's and would like to know how to tell that they were made in 1979 or 1980
