Instead of the wing and all it entails, why not just make your front blade 6" wider?

In my case my 54" front blade can go on either of my two tractors, a 78 JD 316 or 86 JD 420. I know the 420 would push a wider blade but I don't want to overload the 316 so I keep the blade in its stock width. Maybe this person has the same plans.
