I had to take a break and get out of the PB smelling shop and play with my new toy.

Tear down is complete, I noticed another difference? or maybe a missing part. Hulk II's dash has a metal plate, this appears to be missing on BOH. I'll tale the one off Hulk II when I take the steering collar in to the fabricators and see if they can cut me a new dash cover.

Isn't Hulk II a newer model? I haven't seen one with the metal insert.

I am thinking he is, RED is a 1990 model and has the same metal dash insert. I like these as it makes the dash stiffer.

Not a lot going on with BOH, I am still thinking of having a metal dash plate designed and cut as I think this will prevent the plastic from splitting later on. Evaluating parts and building a "wish list" Also looking at what I need to rebuild the steering collar and what it would take to duplicate it on Hulk II. I still plan on some power wash cleaning this weekend, but I need to mow the front yard and weed eat Saturday.

Larry,
Take a look in this thread and tell me if you want the dash assembly off this 1990 Craftsman. I disassembled the tractor and the dash is flopped over in the pile, and I think still intact, plastic and metal, but not sure if it is restoration quality to you or not. Can dig it out this weekend and take better pics if interested. Plastic dash may have a chip out of it that is covered by hood, can't remember.

Thanks WV, I looked at the picture, It looks like the dash's are different. The plastic is good on mine, I am interested in making the metal plate that would have cut-outs for the switches and throttle. BOH throttle and amp meter are in different locations than the one in your picture. I don't think they made the metal insert for this model, so I will check in to having one made if it dosn't cost too much.

"edit" Actually BOH's dash is a lot different!

No problem Larry, my 1988 Caterpillar is the same as your BOH, and no metal insert. The parts chassis was a 1990 and the same as Hulk. I figured that even though the dash layouts are different you might be interested in communizing your dash patterns.

I could retrofit BOH with that dash if the plastic is in good shape. Depends on the cost to ship the plastic dash and metal insert vs having a insert fabricated. I am thinking the dash swap may be cheaper. It would be a good size box but not to heavy, I would guess 5 - 8 pounds to ship. my zip is 76561. Lets discuss details in a PM. Also, is the steering collar plastic or metal? I may be interested in the steering wheel also. Crap, Just ship the whole GT :D

I went to weed eat around the yard this evening and it "Poluan Pro" wouldn't stay running. Dang push bulb has a split in it. Going in tomorrow to get a new weed whacker, and I'll fix this one later. Used RED to mow the front yard so All I have left to do is weed eat (2 hrs) and then I can get to power washing some parts.

Fixed the wacker, but other things came up, darn Holidays that fall on a Sunday, any how I digress. I was able to power wash a trailer full of parts. I still have at least another trailer full, and the engine and transaxle to clean up yet.
