Quick question, I am missing a snap ring clip in my transmission. Part # 1185668. Looks like I can pick these up at most any hardware store, but does anyone know what size? It's kind of hard to get a tape measure in there, but seems to be around 1/2", but if someone has the exact size, that would be most helpful.

Thanks

Can you get a pair of calipers to measure the shaft that the snap ring goes on?

thats a good idea, but I don't own calipers. The rings are pretty cheap, I can just buy an assortment of them, but figured if someone knew off the top of their head it would save me a dollar or two.

Can you get into it with a open end wrench ? That will tell you the size .

I am going to take a guess that one of the ones you will want to buy if you get an assortment is going to be .625 ID.
