I took my old 'puter in to Best Buy to make sure it was unfixable. It is pretty old and I don't want to spend much. However, it has documents I can't get off of it. While in the store I saw another laptop that I decided to buy. It is a better machine than the one I had, except it is Win10. I am an old dog and it will take time to figure it out. They have a lot of pictures and windows to work through to get where your going.

If anyone has any tricks to using the new 10, let us know here. Especially getting rid of Blotware.

I asked the salesman about the rumors concerning having to pay for using Win 10 eventually. He said he never heard such a thing. What he heard was that owners would have to pay for the upgrades.

LINUX he'll say!

Win 7 is my fave for now..

D/L Chrome and use that for your internet browser instead of the MS EDGE that 10 uses.  If you have saved your Favorites to a HTML file on a zip drive you can set it up just like it was before instantly!  (or any other machine you ever use that is!)  If not you need to start from scratch and re-map all your information..

I would back-up and set up a dual-boot with Linux Mint and never look back.  That way you do not lose your windows os and have all the benefits of Linux.

And replace it with 12???

According to what I have read there won't be a 12.  It is supposed to say at 10 and be a rolling release.  We'll see how well that works. :loosing_it: :smashing_pc:
