There either has to be more to this story or this teacher and all her supervisors should be unemployed.

Anyone down there fill in the blanks? This story is all over my wife's Facebook and it made our local paper.

Not only that the teacher was willing to let a student suffocate - go back and look at the quotes from the teacher's report.  Her writing is awful.

Why would we have a person that cannot write using proper verb tense teach our children in the first place?

My county will save a ton of money!!!!

We are going to fire all the 911 dispatchers and just use email for an ambulance.

Cardiac arrest?   QUICK!  send an email to EMS

House on fire?   Let me "fire" up my Mac

If the server is down for maintenance the ambulance or fire crews will get the message in a day or two.....

:(

Most school systems have adopted a "zero tolerance policy". The truth is they are zero intelligence policies with the lowest intelligence being the administrators. Nobody wants to do anything because this is all politically correct and the teachers unions wield political power. Good Luck, Rick

The school system is also under the gun for their special need program. Superintendent is making good money but nothing is going back into the schools.

when somebody tells you that it is politically correct, it is a lie that they are covering up.

If that's the whole story....I am even more scared for what our world is coming to...

If that's the whole story that kid deserves to be praised for what he did.  He very well of saved that girls life by doing something other than sitting on his hands and waiting for an "email".  God bless him.

I like the part where:

"The Killeen ISD maintains the safety of our students, staff and campuses as a priority and applauds the efforts of students who act in good faith to assist others in times of need."

or

"Adding insult to injury, Cortes (the mother) said the school called her Wednesday morning wanting to know why her son was absent.  She had to remind them they suspended him."

Unbelievable.

I saw someone commented and tried to make it look like it was the student fault. Said the kid must be a bad kid since he was in alternative school. I think it was a teacher defending the other teacher. But in Killeen they are known to send kids with special needs to alternative school so they don't have to deal with them. That what my mom pulled my nephew out of school.

Are you kidding me??
“During 5th period another student complained that she couldn't breathe and was having an asthma attack. As I waited for a response from the nurse the student fell out of her chair to the floor. Anthony proceeded to go over and pick her up, saying ‘f—k that we ain’t got time to wait for no email from the nurse.’ He walks out of class and carries the other student to the nurse.”

You E-mail the school nurse to ask for guidance when someone passes out on the floor in your classroom??? I don't blame the teacher. I don't blame the nurse. I don't even blame the school! I blame this f$#@$%%ed up society we live in that the school and teachers have to do stuff like this for fear of being sued for doing "the right thing"
