Black is the composite color originally, no paint, just like the one I posted.

If I remember you are missing two tail light lenses. You may luck out and find them on line OR at your local RV dealership. They should be red in color, 2X4"... Petersen or Bargman...OEM would have been made by Reflect O Lite. If the bases are good then all you need is the lenses.

I have a set of Bargman 378 ( base & lense ) with standard bulbs on my 1250. A set of Petersen or PM on my 149, they have the T- plug in style bulbs. All you have to do is drill a small hole in the base for the lead. The T style bulb I replaced with LED strobe's.

Thanks for the idea and information Kevin!  I was just looking for lenses for it last night.

Would a crankshaft from a John Deere 314 K321 work in my in my Cub K321.  Here is the link on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/...e197b48918&cp=1

My understand is that they both have the same measurements except the JD K321 output shaft is longer.  The one at ebay has a 1" output shaft but is 3 15/32" long.  I figured I would just cut off the extra length.  Tell me were I am wrong.

Thanks for any help you can give.

If you had the Kohler part #'s, you could find the differences in this manual.

Kenny,
Thanks for the link to that crankshaft manual! There's lots of good information and details in it.

After looking over the crankshaft manual from kohler, the only difference that I could find in the crankshaft is the length of the output shaft. I decided to buy it and will shorten the shaft when I get it.
It also helped that they lowered the price.

My parts problems are solved!
Last night at 8 pm I found a parts tractor on craigslist. It's a 149 minus the hood and grill. The engine has a broken connecting rod(They say)but that didn't matter that much to me. My biggest surprise same when I saw the hitch.

Ooops hit the wrong button.

Here is what I saw...
20160210_163047.jpg
The pto wasn't in any of his pictures or description. I couldn't believe it!
20160210_163054.jpg 20160210_163104.jpg 20160210_163109.jpg

This has so many parts that I need! I couldn't believe I found it! I had to drive 450 miles round trip but it was totally worth it!
I know you're all wonder what did I pay for it!
You won't believe it!
$100 plus $50 for diesel!

I'm so excited!!

The front pto, rear pto, rear tires, hitch, tunnel cover, seat, brake pads..............

I couldn't sleep last because I couldn't stop thinking about it.  I had to drink two 5 Hour energy drink during the trip to keep me awake!  It's no good if your dead from falling asleep! :D

I tried turning the motor on the parts tractor.  It wouldn't move at all so I decided to remove the head.  Here is what it looks like.

20160210_214636.jpg

I took my hammer and gently tapped the top of the piston and it started to move.  When I started to turn the motor by hand it moved almost one full stroke until it reached the top and it stopped dead.  The crankshaft is definentily not broken.   I turned it the opposite direction and the same thing happened.

20160210_214707.jpg

I'm thinking the reason why the engine is stopping is because the balance gears have not been removed from this engine and they are interferring with the motion of the cam or crankshaft.  I also tried to see how much side to side motion the piston had but it didn't seem to move very much.  It was buy far less than the one that came on my tractor.  I cleaned the piston with a wire brush to see if is STD or .010 but I didn't see anything stamped into the top.

20160210_215635.jpg 20160210_215639.jpg

I think I'm going to remove the motor and see if I can fix this one for now without spending much money.  Install it into my tractor and save up my money to fix the orginal motor.  Oh, this new motor is a K301 and not a K321.

I also noticed that the K321 had a 26mm carberator and so does the K301.  I thought the K321 was suppose to have a 30mm.  Maybe somebody replaced the original carb. with something they had laying around when they couldn't find a 30mm carb..

Correction, 129 not 127

You are correct, if it were a 149 it would have a k321 and it would have hydraulic lift.

Great find Mark, very glad for you! Nice angle gear box for a tiller and rear lift to boot!

You are right K321 should have a 30mm carb.

Kevin,

Will the 26mm carb. make the K321 run lean or just decrease the power?

since its flowing less air and fuel it should just decrease power.

The rear PTO on it is a tiller drive gearbox.  And it looks to be all there although someone has taken the left side mount pin off and bolted on a different rear hitch.  Not a bad parts 129 though.

Yea,,look what a rear lift goes for these days!

And a spring lift assist...there more goods adding up!

I figured I would save close to $500 or more by buying this parts tractors.  A lot of the front steering components are in a lot better shape than mine.  Lots of years with that FEL on my tractor has really wore out those parts.  The rear tires (so I can drive it on my grass without tearing it up with the agri tires) are in great shape and easily pay for the cost of this tractor.

Older Cub Cadet garden tractor at not very common directly were I live, which is why I always have to travel long distance to find items.  Thankful diesel is $1.93 a gallon.
