Welcome aboard.  Thats a nice collection you've gotten off to a start with.  That 149 was a decent buy at his asking price.  You stole that thing at $1200!  Patience is rewarded though to those who wait.  Good luck with all of them and it is CLEAR that you are hooked.

Great deals....both of them.  The loader can and will save grief for your back, that you can count on!

Small bit of bad news about the Cub 149 motor. It has a dull thumping sound that sounds like a possible connecting rod bearing. I think I'll just pull the motor and check it over to make sure everything is alright. I don't want to destroy the original motor. I hope it doesn't cost me to much. I've already had to order a new muffler. If found what should be a good replacement from Amazon. It had a couple of reviews that seems to indicate that it was of good quality. We will see when it shows up. I'll post more pictures under a new post when all that happens.

Here is a picture of my son on Christmas day.  You'll notice that he's still in his pajamas.  The other picture is of him driving it several days later.  He can barely reach the brake pedal so you have to watch out.  We're going to adjust the seat once we get some more time to work on it.

Welcome! Nice collection you have already. I looked for a reasonably priced GT with a FEL for a while with no luck. Congrats on scoring that 149, you stole that thing!

My son worked on his tractor today.  The wheels on the deck would rub against the rear tires and cause it to stop moving.  I put the tractor on jack stands and left to clean up some leafs outside.  Within 10 minutes he came outside and told me he had fixed it.  I couldn't believe it so I went and looked.  The deck had a hook that hand came off and he simply lifted the deck and reattached the hook.  He spent the next 20 minutes mowing the front and back yard.  We still need to figure out how to make the mower belt tighter so the blades don't slow way down in thick grass.  Maybe he can figure that one out tomorrow.

Glad he got that figured out. The deck belt may be worn and needs replaced.

Bet Dad is smiling.
Tell him we said Good Job.
As for the Belt, don't discount the fact that the PO may have changed it with one the wrong size.
