These little tractors were made in Solon Ohio in the late 50's early 60's this is a Bready model 662 one of our members GFAN had restored one a few years back. I saw this on the loved hate CL in Conn. some of you will remember my rant a few days ago about sellers that don't respond, anyhoo I always wanted to say that, although I think its queer here are some pics. The first one is GFAN'S restored one mine is the horrendous color green one . The sheet metal on mine is in perfect condition it is chain driven and has a Crosley transmission along with a B&S 140433 6HP.The RF tire has a few cracks in it but the tractor is complete. I'm looking for a steering for it as this one is trashed. It has a tapered shaft 1/2 - 3/4 threaded and keyed. Its a Schiller wheel and looks just like a older Bolens or cub . I'm wondering if I can adapt a 3/4 IMG_1284.JPG IMG_1288.JPG IMG_1287.JPG IMG_1289.JPG IMG_1290.JPG IMG_1291.JPG IMG_1292.JPG IMG_1294.JPG IMG_1293.JPG shaft wheel to fit ?

Dare I say it, "Horrendous colour green one"? No good tractor can be a bad colour. Maybe it's just a woman thing, but I think it's cute and tough looking at the same time, like a bulldog! Good find.

Interesting that another brand turns the trans sideways, like Speedex.  Seems like is opposite side tho?  Have to look again. What is clutch?  Belt tensioner or sliding engine also like Speedex?  Looks pretty heavy built, but no award for Beauty! :D

oldeere, just someone thinking all tractors are green and yellow looks like.  Colors are in everyone's brain as correct for a tractor.

Nice looking tin.  Front Axle is strange looking the way it is mounted.  Looks to be up side down. HA!~  That green is not all that bad, and not saying that because I love JD Green either.  Ace Hardware has just as good a paint and lot cheaper than JD Green.  I have a good, repaired steering wheel off an 850 Bolens but don't remember if it is a tapered shaft or not.  Thinking 3/4" right off.  To cold to go check toady .

Interesting machine there!

The Bolens ones like on th Ride-a-Matic will be 3/4'' with a Key may be able to make them work with a shim.

I carry an aftermarket but they are about $50
