My son has one that he paid around $500 for, the camera is great on it and it looks cool, but not my money.

First flight with this this morning, all went well but I had the camera angled too low. It is re charging now. Yes these can get expensive, that is why I searched and found the viper for $100.00, It had what I wanted, a camera. There was a lower end one for $90.00 that uses a memory card, but I opted for the one with wi-fi for $10.00 more. Those with GPS can get up into the 1000's but it would need to be useful (like locating cattle, or fishing) before I would get one of those. For now, the fun of just taking aerial photos and video's (and flying the thing is good for me. Oh, I also have one of those single blade choppers, the BIG difference the Quad has an internal gyro for stability and three levels, Beginner-Good for indoors, Intermediate-Good for outdoors, and expert-requires the removal of blade guards and camera. These things are very fast, and I haven't used the expert setting as I am far from that level. Back to have some more fun with it, and hopefully a better video. PS, we were able to connect a phone and tablet at the same time!

Another kinda cool thing if you're a farmer. Save the bill, you can use it as a tax deduction under miscellaneous cattle expenses!

I've looked at them. Especially around xmas. I would like to play with  one but have no real need for it to be useful. They do look like they would be fun. Wonder what the dog would think of it flying around the house?

My dogs just look sideways at it, the Cats on the other hand are fun to chase with it.

My poodle mix barks and jumps/bites at it, specially if I crash my copter in house. BUT, she barks at vac and everything else with a motor too.

Well, I broke it and not in the usual way. Only my wife and Daughter have smart phones so I have to enlist them for the videos. I watched a couple YouTube videos on how to connect your laptop to the camera. I obtained the camera IP address, and guessed the password and was in with no problems. I could even see the video, but in a slow refresh rate. It was complaining about activeX so I tried adjusting some settings and ended up turning (or reconfiguring) the camera wifi so nothing will connect now. The copter works fine, no camera tho. I sent the company an email enquiring about resetting the camera, or a replacement. I may just buy another one and keep out of the camera. drats!

I have enlisted the help of a bunch of electronic guru's on another site, and contacted the vender. Bottom line, I am game to buy another one, then I'll have all the spare parts I need, except a camera, I just need to keep out of it, and may even get my own tablet for this.

I think the neighbor kid has one of those.   It sure looked a lot like that one.  It had lights on it and I saw it at twilight.  It was really cool.

I got a copter to play with just before Christmas.  I haven't broken it yet..........................

The Sky Viper has green and red leds on the bottom, helps to keep the "front" orientation correct. I haven't flown it at night "yet" but I think it will look cool.
