582 engine rebuild

im rebuilding the briggs in my 582. i was reading the manual for the engine and it says the No. 2 connecting rod oil hole faces away from the cam gear. thats not how it was when it came apart and that would mean the hole is facing down. is this right? it doesnt make sense to me.

Welcome to GTT. I'm stumped on this but, I have seen factory defective many times before. Check a couple of the manuals from our Manuals Section. Good Luck, Rick

thank you i read through the manual i down loaded on this site and i saw 2 places it said that about the hole so i assumed they new something i didnt lol i knew it couldnt be right so i was just posting this question  on every cub forum i could find. thanks alot
