I got this Raider 8 from a friend a little while back. The K181 finally Tuckered out and was missing. I was going to stick a K301 on it but decided to use it on a different tractor. So this tractor will get another K181 and different tires front and rear. It will most likely do some of the mowing come spring. I had planned to flip it from the start but after getting it home I found that it has been taken very good care of. It has almost zero front axle play and the spindles are nice and tight too. Its also very clean. I have a habit of taking the running boards off and putting the stirrup foot rests on for more leg room and this one will get the same treatment.

Those "cameras" need a switch that only allows it to work when right side up.

Good little Horse!  I vote the footboards stay on, but that is just Me, I guess!  I like to move legs in diff positions depending on what I am doing on tractor, plus easier to get on for old guy like me. You probly CAN put on bigger wheels and tires, I've found that while messing with them.

Grumpy I feel more cramped up with the running boards on. I also find it easier to get on and off without them on. More like one of my motorcycles,easier to get in close and throw a leg over.

Seriously,you are right and I do sometimes but the flip open cover becomes a pain at that point,along with me being left handed and everything is then on the wrong side,but I promise to work on it.

There is a safety concern as well. If your foot slips off the stirrup, you could end up with your leg somewhere under the trans. Jes' sayin.

Nice clean Raider, definitely worth the time and trouble to get it back in shape.
