Am I going to have problems running ultra low sulfur diesel in a 1985 yanmar?

Or is there an additive I should use?

I prefer Marvel Mystery Oil. There are many answers to your problem and a lot of times the answer just depends on what product is your favorite.

Yanmar engines are used extensively in marine applications. Here is one opinion on your question.

A tractor injection rebuild service recommended to me putting one quart of ATF per each 20 to 25 gallons of diesel fuel for lubricant due to the low sulphur fuels.
