I received the new L&G magazine today and was surprised to see an article about the Richard Petty Rugg mower's . This past September I attended the pumpkin run car show and bring anything that burns gas  in NJ . Some of you may remember these pictures I posted, these Rugg's were really cool and were RP's first sponsor. These lawn mowers belong to Jay Phillips, and are signed by Petty. Also note the awesome Plymouth SIMG_1223.JPG IMG_1224.JPG IMG_1225.JPG uperbird owned by Jay . Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they were banned from NASCAR racing deemed as an unfair advantage. Other than the Petty link, those mowers are way out their league as being a Real GT. Just dime store junk.   from the Dark Side, heh!  I didn't notice the mini in the mag, have to look again. Sure is little. That Petty linked too?  Car is the best part of whole article.

I don't think the Superbird and Daytona were technically banned but were restricted out of competition. The wing cars were required to go to a 304 C.I. engine and they were no longer able to run with the standard bodied big blocks. "There's no replacement for displacement" as they say in racing!

Here's a great article on the Daytona and NASCAR's banning them.
