Winter is really kicking in lately Noel. We are supposed to get more rain than you but the line where it changes over is very near Halifax, so it could go either way. At least this year we are getting the changeovers to rain that we didn't get last year, although it is early days yet. What made last year so brutal was that there were no thaws in Feb or March and the snow just kept piling up and up and up!!!

Good luck with this coming storm. It's cold and clear now here. Hard to believe that in a few hours it's supposed to start snowing.

Wish we could get some snow.  Mainly for ground insulation.  This single digit temps keeps pushing the frost deeper and deeper.  At least we have moisture in the ground to freeze good.  Started at 2° F this morning and made it up to 10 at noon.  2 years ago we had a bitter cold start of the new year and froze a lot of water and sewer line up.  Our sewer line was froze for 3 months.  Glad we had a out house for decorative purpose I at least though and put a 30 gal plastic barrel under.  Sure wasn't weather tight though.  Took a piece of carpet and cut a hole out to fit the hole opening of the lid.  Wasn't near as cold that way but 3 months is way to long.  Local plumber said he had at least 18 sewer systems froze up that winter and nothing you can do about it but wait till it thaws out.

It looks like you should be good to go. We had rain Saturday and Sunday morning, that switched to wet snow in the afternoon. I made it half way to work on Monday, where I meet a co-worker and we carpool from there. The roads and visibility were both poor, so we just turned around and went home. I got a full day of work in today, but had a bad drive home due to heavy blowing snow. Tomorrow I am taking my pigs to the butcher. I have to drive 1/2 hr south to pick up a trailer, drive back home and load the pigs, then drive 2 hrs north to the butcher and then return the trailer to where I picked it up. Oh yeah, we have snow squall warnings for tomorrow morning as well, should make for a fun day.

I wonder how Noel is making out? We got about 8-10" by the looks of things and it hasn't yet warmed up to freezing, so I am going out right now to blow out the driveway before it gets wet and heavy.

I'm here, about 8" of snow, then the wind went down and the sun came out, now the wind is starting again, with light snow. JD 140 worked good, stuck a few times, no chains. My hydraulic shoot worked great. Could tip it down to put snow around the garage for insulation.
