I can't find information on the Columbia model number series. On MTF there are many Canadian 990 owners also and it may be a way to decipher by asking about the numbering system there. Unless someone knows here at GTT. Just by the pictures I would put it at 1974 or 1975.

 

Have you checked the left rear frame rail for the access hole that is known to crack? That is a 73' or 74'.

A 1972 would be labeled 15hp.

 

The Briggs numbers can help if you can fine them on the fan shroud below the carb or on top. Usually stamped and not easy to see. Labeled MODEL - TYPE - CODE. The third set of numbers "CODE" has the year of manufacture in the first two digits. Diregard this if you already know.

Thanks - from the motor info- it's a 1974. Does have the access hole on the left side. 16hp decal.
