I need an Ariens fuel tank 03507100 for a YT1132 . It's a molded plastic one that is apparently "not available" new anymore. A guy on Ebay had one but it got sold. econvert.jpg

Thanks,

I may have an Ariens RER in my junk tractor area. That number doesn't mean anything to me. Post a pic. Good Luck, Rick

I do see that the Gravely Parts seller Richards Lawn and Garden lists a new one for $99, but all the Ariens dealers I saw stated that the item was unavailable--which is interesting. If boyscout862 has a good used one I would buy used.

Thanks,

KR

Is it leaking at the seam?  Is it cracked?  Is repairing an option?  I've had luck with some "plastic welding" products.  I've even used a head gun and pieces of the same type of plastic and welded/fused pieces together.  It wasn't pretty, but worked.

I'm assuming you have a tank to start with.  =)

I would probably look at a replacement if you have a few cracks.  I'll personally fix one leak/crack in a fuel tank.  More than that will justify a replacement to me.  You don't want to chance too much fuel leaking out, especially in an engine compartment.  That gets dangerous real quick!  It looks like your tank is at the back of the machine.  You'll just be leaving a trail of dead grass behind you! =)

As far as plastic welding...if you try it, make sure you clean the tank out very well.  You will be working with heat on a fuel containment vessel!  Look at the plastic welding equipment HF sells.  I've only used it a couple times on small cracks, so I can report how well it would work on anything of a decent size.  I probably wouldn't recommend it in your case.  Also, you would be spending a decent amount of coin on tools/rods that you could buy a replacement tank with, granted you can find one.

Good luck!

Jacks Small Engine took my order but then said the part was unavailable and cancelled my order. So I put an order in with RichardsLawn Gravely dealer. Hopefully they will come through.

Richardslawn Gravely also says unavailable.

So I do need a used one if anybody knows of one.
