I guess I'm a bit of a purist at heart! Does anyone know the correct AC orange for 1948? Van Sickle has three different AC oranges on it's site;

Allis Chalmers changed paint color in 1960. Not sure if Simplicity changed colors.

Sounds like you have a 1948 Simplicity walk behind tractor? There aren't many good examples of original paint left to judge by. I have used Duplicolor DE1607 engine enamel on some of my oldest Simplicity tractors (1960 Model 700) but I think there was someone using Ford's Vermillion Red for some of the older tractors. I don't know where you would find that in a spray can. Many auto parts stores handle the Duplicolor paint.
