After all the years I've been shopping at Lowes, yesterday was the first time I was told that with proof of military service, I get 10 percent discount.

My brother just told me that last month.  I never served, so I didn't earn the discount.  Saved him a lot doing his house repairs.

I have a small copy of my DD214 in my wallet. Ace Hardware offers the same discount.

Orschelns offer the discount on Tuesday and Wednesday a Senior discount.  Don't shop at Lowes as have Menard's across the mall and usually go there.  don' know where anything is at in Lowes and to much walking with a bad knee to try and find it.  I use my Legion Life Membership card.

Kenny is that just certain stores or a company policy?  Do a fair amount at Ace and never head of it. Nothing on their ads or in store.

I cannot say for sure, but this store said if I had a military ID (DD214 works), I'd get 10% off. I also signed up for their Rewards card and they added the info to it so all I have to do is give my phone # and get the discount. The rewards card gives me coupons as I spend there. I love their fastener section. I can find most anything in there! (springs, shaft collars, and good spring/roll pins.)

Most places you have to ask for military doscount (even in uniform I found out at certain places). I always ask even if told before they didn't offer military discount. Besides local businesses I know of advance auto parts, Lowes and home depot nationally all take 10%.

That is how I found out that they had changed the Military ID's.  Home depot started offering the 10% discount so I show my ID at the checkout and the young lady says that is not a military ID.  I looked at her asked what planet she was from?  The manager gave me the discount and a few months later we were up visiting our daughter in VA.  So I went out the Oceana and asked them.  Sure enough they had change them a few years back.

I use my discount all the time.  I usually go to Home depot since Lowes is another 20 minutes away, but I didn't know about Ace or Advance.  Thanks for the info.

I scanned the original and just shrunk it down in the puter. Printed it out and carry it with me. It's about a 5X7 size when unfolded! Saved the original in case I need a copy!
