Sounds like a power supply. They can be replaced relatively easy, just need to make sure you are replacing with the same type and spec's pwr supply.

Picture organization was crazy for a lot of time for me after I got a computer in the 90's..


After I lost all of my 1990's pix on an old machine I started backing up everything..  


Finding things I knew I had was a challenge though..  Everything in the early 2000's was bunched together and a mess.  


In ~2006 I started saving things by date.  I made yearly folders and in those broke things down by month or event..  It made retrieving things so much easier!  


I have them in my Public folder and can access & back them up to any computer on my home network..  


Here's a picture of my file stack..  (Wish I would have started this sooner!)
