The wife and I were having a discussion and she told me she was thankful for the forum! I asked why and she said that since moving to the woods I had been more cut off from everyone but that since starting to use the site I seem happier and more talkative. I just wanted to say thanks and merry Christmas to all of you. Ever since being retired from the Navy I have found myself less motivated and somewhat down, it is hard when everything you know and use to define yourself is ripped away from you! The people here have helped me see that I can still call myself a mechanic and more than that a man! I credit most of you with this realization and am more appreciative than you will ever know. I hope that others can find this site and come to the same conclusion, you are a great group of people and very helpful. Thanks again and hope you all have a great Christmas and new year! Eric.

Eric, I totally understand where you're coming from since my quitting the dairy business before surgery.  GTtalk has been invaluable to my mental well being!  Glad it's been the same for you!

Thanks much Eric and the same back to you and your family.  Thanks for your years of service to our country.  Enjoy your retirement, it is a big change.  Went through that about 17 years ago.  Got to have a hobby to survive.

A Merry Christmas to you and yours, Eric. Thank you for your service, and it seems like it's time to further enjoy what you like to do. It does have to be hard to adjust to retirement, but you will enjoy your new routine as time rolls on. Every day that we can enjoy doing what we like to do is a blessing. It's very easy to feel welcome on this forum, great bunch of people here.

Thanks as well Eric. I too was in the Navy ! I  echo your thoughts about this site . I am no stranger to forums , and have had some bad experiences on some .

But this place has been very helpful with my hobbies as well as just fun to be a part of.

It makes me want to share idea's and not just 'take' information .

Thank you all for the kind and warm words, sorry to depart from mechanical discussion. I just thought it important to give thanks to those who have helped me and mine! This is the best forum I have ever been involved in. Also I would like to take some time to appreciate any other former service members, you guys all deserve the most heartfelt thank you and for those who did not serve that's OK to we still appreciate you! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!
