LOL I was looking thru local CL ads this morning , Just had to laugh at this item Description.

John Deere lawn tractor for sale, this lawn tractor is one of the greatest tractors your money could buy. First, you need to ask your self, do you want some made in communist China Walmart jalopy held together with the facets of socialism? Or do you want to ride a piece of Americana while enjoying a cold one? This tractor may have a few mows under its belt, but it's just begun its journey of greatness. Much like a trusty hunting dog, you can expect this Deere to perform, and be by your side through the thickest of lawns. The mighty Deere is powered by an 8HP Kohler engine, that is capable of unthinkable torque. do you think that this mean green cutting and towing machine (yes it has a trailer hitch) is the right trusty tractor for you? Does your heart pump red white, and blue? Have you ever thought about owning a pet bald eagle? does your neighbors tractor make your current lawn care device (or lack there of) look laughable and sad? Are you thinking about how you could put an open exhaust on this tractor as we speak? Text me. Thanks ; )

That's quite a sales pitch !!  :rolling:

If you can't impress people with brilliance, baffle them with B.S.

Must be a Car Salesman!  8hp is all they had?  Don't seem right, yet didn't know there was a 200 model either. This an economy tractor in that series? Heck even the 112's and such by that time were bigger engines. Maybe the guy was "drinking a cold one" when he wrote that, made him more American then.

I thought the beginning of the 200 series was the 208 but yeah/ the 208 did come with an 8HP.

The 200 was made for 2 years then they switched to the 208, not sure why, the 208 was only made for 2 years and then JD dropped the 8HP GT from their line up all together, I have a 200(my first real GT I ever owned), but it has been behind my bar for a couple of years waiting to be fixed.  A lot of small engine shops don't even realize they made a 200, and when you ask about parts the usual response is "you mean a 210".
