Came across this JD zero turn that I think is unusual.  A rear steer with a front mount engine.  Talked to the young man who did not know what model it is.  He said it was full hydro with  a brake system activated by the steering wheel, causing one or the other wheels to brake thus turning.

Anybody know what model it is & how old

It's the remnants of a SST 16. They were built 2000-2003.

Hmm I have never seen anything like that before. Looks like it has the ride and style of a lawn tractor with the turning radius of a zero turn. I wonder why they only made them for 4 years?

They were a craptacular failure, not very well built.
