Well, another one of those "box in the mail posts" from a land far and away up north. Who else could it be but from our newfound Bolens upholster, Stew (29 Chev).
I have to give mad props to my man Stew for making a dream become reality. I truly can't say enough about his workmanship. Let me tell you, his product is even better in person than what you see in the his project threads! Everything is labeled and professionally done with care and a passion in mind. That's the key word, passion. Sure, you could find a reputable upholster somewhere who does nice work but are they going to hold the same level of enthusiasm and passion as we do (and more importantly, Stew has) for recreating an original Bolens part? Probably not. I would much rather support somebody in our club.
I presented an idea with Stew a while back about doing a leather seat and since then we've gone back and forth floating ideas around. Anyway, what I wasn't expecting to find in the mail after it was all said and done was not only the leather version but a complete second set done in vinyl for comparison purposes to keep! I can't say enough about his generosity and workmanship. He offers a top level of customer service and keeps you in the loop every step of the way with extremely detailed photos requesting your approval. If you ever need to have a Boles seat recreated, Stew is your man. Something tells me this is only the tip of the iceberg for him and will easily become a second job... if not a primary! Get ready, Stew, crowds a comin'.
I will post pictures once the seat is restored. I'm dropping off the seat frame this week to get sandblasted and repainted the color of the tractor. It should all be done by the end of the month or early next year.
Here's some pics of the leather version.
