Is it kinda like a partial power shift like the IH torque amplifier? Just wondering...

I assume you are talking about the vari-speed on the MF10/12 geared units.
It was an infinitely variable pulley set (reminds you of a speed changer on a snowmobile)

Basically, Each gear had 5 sub speeds.
Nice when needing to downshift, you didnt have to push in the clutch.

Yeah, manual with two pulleys that change diameters by squeezing and letting out. If looking at one, make sure it is not all rusted up. One below dash in middle and one on back right side of the axle. BOTH need special wide belts, which are still availabe.  Don't force the control lever if it doesn't move at first, things can break in linkage.  Best to be moving tractor as you shift to make it work.

I have a good working MF10 that has the 12hp HH120 in it.

It is setup for sleeve hitch attachments, that's what I mainly use it for.

It's going up for sale.
