It would require being prepared for it. Based on getting stuck yesterday, I'm going to need to get good tires on the S-14 and fix the lift cylinder (leaking). I also need to make a brinly plow adapter at minimum to go into my receiver hitch adapter. I might be able to pull it all off too.

You can do it, there is always plows to borrow, sleeve hitch and cat 0.

Everybody is very friendly and helpful just like at French creek.

Hey, I thought I'd found & filled them all!  :smilewink:   I'll be extra diligent this time, but still be prepared!  :D

Well Merry Christmas to all. I went out to put a hitch on the one "O" that I've been puttering with in hopes of bringing to plow day. (some additional parts came for Christmas) Anyway I decided to drain the rear axle before putting the hitch plate on. Hmmm first quart and half coming out as loosened bolts was clear water.... :( Once open it is all an ugly mess of goo and muddy goo.. :( .So more work will be required. I've never had one this bad, usually just drain, wipe and put in fresh. Yes, this one was outside for maybe years? I don't really know, but I've got it running pretty fair (still looks pretty rough) My goal was to plow with an "O" this year. So my question is should I temporarily bolt the plate back on and fill from trans/shifter area with kerosene and make a few laps and drain again ? or how is best way to get all this cleared out. Second question: will the side covers be full of this slop also or are they separated from the diff ? I see grease fittings out by the hubs on each side, which makes me think they maybe separated. They'll come off and get checked too, but I thought that might be a separate project.

Maybe I should have put this in the Cub section? But it's Daniels plow day that I'm working towards. I know my 782 plows like a beast  :dancingbanana: at Daniels, I want to see what an Original can do.

I think I'd do the diesel oil flush a few times till it starts looking decent.  Diesel has pretty much no lube properties, so you might want to add a tad (maybe half pint) of fresh oil to it.  I'm not sure on the Cubs if there is a seal next to the main housing.

Sorry jpackard56, I tried to make your post appear in both this thread and the Cub Cadet forum to get you more answers to your diff cleaning question, but it removed your post from here.  But it left where I quoted you, so if you like, I'll leave as it is.

Oh, and I ordered more "Ball Hollow/GTtalk Plow Day" T-shirts and also this year, I have some hats (25) coming.  I think I can keep the prices to $10 for most shirts and also $10 for hats.  XXL shirts will likely be $12 as they cost more to buy.  Hope you all like them!

As soon as I get them in, which will be a while, I'll post some pics.

Member "Lauber1", Jeff is from Iowa and came to my 1st ever plow day.  You could come plow, see where Abe Lincoln was born (10 miles away), then go see Mammoth Cave, just 50 miles away.

We went to Mammoth cave but it was closed on one of our trips to Tenn..  I didn't know you were right by 65..  We went to 'Big Bone Lick' state park one trip where they found a real Mammoth!

I'm 19.6 miles from the Sonora, Ky exit of I65, and 21 miles from exit 91 in Elizabethtown, Ky.

Anxious for April to get here, my brother and I will be making it down. Plowin, Chili, and Tshirts, can't top that. Can't plow with duals and don't have room on the trailer for the disc, so will leave the disc at home.
