I have noticed that the tractor threads are dropping off. I have some things I want to do (tractorwise), but the weather, holiday, and lack of funds have slowed me down. I enjoy a lot of the Off Topic threads, helps you understand that others are just like you, not always working on tractors.

Instead of clicking on "view new content" you can click on "forums" and cruise the comments of your favorite brand of tractor or any topic that interests you. I am not on facebook because I dont get into all of the random stuff that gets posted and really dont care to see pics of what everyone I know has for dinner, on here I sometimes chose to view those topics and have even tried some of the recipes. It can be annoying to weed through the off topic new posts to get to the GT stuff, but there are filters in place for that.

:ditto:

That's how I view all forums, I'll click the "Off topic " section then if I see something interesting I click on it, other wise I ''mark as read" and move along to the brand specific forums.

If you dont want to see the non tractor related posts thats the best way to go that way you never even have to go into the "Off topic" if you dont want to.

I have texted with him about once a week.  he is neck deep in a lot of projects and just had to put GT's on the back burner for a while.

I believe him when he says he is coming back, but it will have to be after he gets a couple things off his plate.

Maynard Jodrey is alive & well.  He spends most of his internet time on Facebook as his life took directions away from garden tractors.

**HE NEVER READ THE DANG THINGS ANYWAY!!   :bigrofl:

As far as life in the crapper I've wallowed in it for the last decade..  Our lost boys, my Dad, friends and personal bouts with epilepsy have all but destroyed my world and me.  Many others here are in the same boat..  As long as my eyes work and my fingers can type I'll be around..  Also-  Rich wouldn't have anyone else to mess with if I couldn't!!

I think the reason anlot of tractor threads have died down is because of the economy. Think about. We are paying more for everything these days. Many members have suffered pay decreases job loss ect.

How many of us are tinkering and enjoy what we have but not doing any major purchases for finicial reasons? Rhetorical question. Don't answer.

My priorities of tractors has dropped to low on my list unless I find a super deal. Me and my dad both have no plans of buying or doing any more tractors until my son is old enough to help and we will do one with him maybe more if he really enjoys it.

I am a little bothered by the arguing over gt/non-gt posts going on, I joined this site because I loved the people and sense of community (still do), I refuse to join some of the "other" forums because of the name calling, and general atmosphere and don't want this site to end up like those forums.

I've disappeared here once or twice for short hauls to where I had only been posting a dozen replies a month. It's all about life getting in the way of hobbies. If it was not for the Off Topic section here, I might as well not show up.
I have lots of tractors and knowledge, but very little time time to devote to them. I have to live through everyone else sometimes just to read of others' life successes and struggles to know I am not alone.
Everyone here is family to me. Think of all the times you picked on your siblings, it makes total sense to me.

I only have a very small collection, not really enough tractors to post anywhere but the off topic forum.

Always just liked tractor people and especially enjoy this site and its members.

I like this site just the way it is.

It's a very nice place to spend time, look around and get involved in any discussions you want to.

George and the admins and mods have done a great job here.

I've said it many times before and I'm sure I'll repeat it often.  Thank you George.

While the site is primarily about garden tractors over the years there have been many friendships made and a family atmosphere created which leads to more socialism. I haven't had time to think about tractors let alone work on them to be able to post about tractor related things or post much at all. I hope that will change in the near future and I can spend more time enjoying the tractors and working on them.

In regards to keeping the off topic stuff from the search results. It can be set to not show up in search results but it would effect everyone. I would want the general consensus to make that decision.
