hi i just just joined gTtalk my name is Jamie, and i bought an older bolens garden tractor at a scrap yard for $70 with a immaculate tri blade, driveshaft driven mower deck , i think its a GT-1055? it has a 10 hp tecumpse that does run but needs some work, but my questions are, what year is my bolens?, is it rare?, and am i correct about the series? the serial number is "0205157" any help would be very appreciated thank you

Welcome to GTT!

Your Bolens is a G10 and was one of the most popular and most produced models in the tubeframe line, the G10 was made 1973-1977

It is a pretty well built and user friendly tractor

If you have some pictures we'd love to see them, lots of Bolens guys here!

Welcome to GTtalk!

G10 1055-02   Ser#- 0205157    Your tractor would be the 5,057 tractor made of the second production run of the G10.

Being a -02 production run makes your tractor a 1975 model.

One of the things that you will learn if you play with the Bolens tractors for any amount of time though is that the production run number isn't always an indicator of exactly which year the tractor was made.

The G10 is a good example, as the -01 production spanned 1973 and 1974.

The -02 was only produced in 1975, the -03 only in 1976, and the -04 only in 1977.

For other tractors, there could have been multiple production runs in the same year.  For instance the 1886 -01 was produced only in 1971, but in 1972 there were -02, -03 and -04 production runs.
