Have you ever seen a carport with a hood ornament?

Got the idea to put this on display in a prominent spot yet out of the way.   Its been outside in the weather for quite some time anyhow and will eventually have to be restored, so I figured why not.

Funny story,

About 45 minutes after I put it up there yesterday the guy came rolling in that rents the pasture and has the cattle on this place.  Had his son with him and they were relocating the two bulls to another farm.  They brought their gooseneck cattle trailer in with two four wheelers to round up the cattle.  Once the bulls were loaded there was no way to haul the four wheelers in the same load so the four wheelers were left here.  I didn't go down to the barn to talk with them,  they were busy.

When the bulls were relocated the son came back with the gooseneck to pick up the four wheelers.  The son is about my age and he came up to the shop to visit for a spell.  It was warm enough I had the big shop doors open.  We talked a little while and then he asked .....

How long has that tractor been up there?  I said about two hours.

He laughed and said "no wonder!" when we pulled in earlier dad just stopped the truck at the top of the drive, stared at the pedal for a while and said.  "I never noticed that tractor up there before".

Knowing his dad is a big time practical joker, I told the son to tell the old man its been up there over a year and that I can't believe he never noticed it before.  Told him to lay it on thick!  The son laughed and said I'm gonna tell him I asked you about the pedal tractor and razz him good about how it took over a year for him to notice.  Make him think he's losing his mind at least for a while,  then tell him the truth.

Oh I'd love to be there for that conversation.

Well, NOT the same as Deere on a Silo, but kinda cute. I know a collector of MM's in Indiana that has a whole R tractor up on his meeting barn and the lights can come on at night, cool!  Sorry, no picture.

You don't have one of those die cast tractors on the hood of your truck, too, do you? LOL

I have a Gravely Tractor Club of America sticker on the back glass.  Does that count? :rolling:
