Well, not many know that I also have an interest in trains (mainly steam). 4 years ago I bought a game call TRS2006. It works good for making new routes and just running trains. Its a cool game that wont suck your pocket dry at the end of the day. lol
I am working on a route right now called the Golden North set in alaska. Most of the trackage is made up of narrow gauge tracks.
I will post every now and then and tell you whats up and show pictures.

Sounds pretty cool!
I've got railroad tycoon 3 that I havn't played in a looong time, the kids kinda dabble with it here and there.
It is verry addicting, and if you think about it, trains and tractors are pretty close relatives...

My son, father and I all really like model railroad stuff. My dad has a great collection of Lionel stuff from the 40's and 50's and my son and I have a bunch of more recent and smaller stuff. It is fun and addicting and is truly related to tractors.

I think your son needs a game to simulate his steam powered by the sun power generating whatchamacallit dodad lol. I know he ran it by me at plow day and all I could figure out was that it sounded like money leaving your pocket lol. I'm sure it will work, just not sure how yet lol.
