Yes the original OMC is still in there. The carb is stock, or at least similar to a stock one. I worked on a newer one that had a slightly different carb.

Today I worked on the old girl some more. I fixed a fuel leak and had the engine running for a few minutes. IT sounds good but the carb needs some attention for it to run as it should.

Looking good. Do you plan on using it or just a toy?

It will be used and a toy, probably more as a toy but it will be nice to have if I need to haul heavy stuff around the yard.

Today I got around to working on the Cushman again. I cleaned the carb and fired her up for the first time this year. The carb cleaning helped but it still needs a complete tune-up to run great. If I get some time this weekend I may see if she will still drive. Also carb cleaner in the eye burns so wear safety glasses.

Today I was able to drive my truckster for a short time. It's fun to drive but needs a lot of work to be reliable. The first problem is that the engine runs crappy. I'm thinking a complete tune up will cure most of this problem. Then the brakes are non existent which is a big problem, at least my yard is flat lol. Also the alt. isn't charging so I'll be digging into the harness. Aside from the engine the other major problem is that I can't shift into first or reverse. I think the linkage is really worn out. Starting off in second gear isn't the easiest when the engine doesn't want to cooperate and run smooth.

Just wanted to post another update but no pictures. I got the engine running slightly better, still needs tuned but will run at full throttle fine. Other than that I drive it around the yard occasionally. One of these days I'll get back to working on it more.
