I have a Win7 machine at home office but had to buy a new laptop for my new office.  It came with Win10.  It runs about 1/2 the speed of the Win7 box, even though it has twice the cores & twice the RAM, and that is even after I spent 3 hours removing the bloat-ware.  For example, Win10 comes with a non-removable app called XBox.  Who needs XBox on an office machine?  Why is it non-removable?  I give it about another week before I take it in and have Win7 installed.

I haven't noticed any change in speed of this PC.

I went from XP to 7 and really hated 7 it for a long time.  Stuck with it now but still don't like all the stuff they force you to use, like the Fast Mail, etc.  Finally got T-bird working . . .

I have 7 and I don't have Fast Mail. I use AOL mail. I don't know what T- bird is. My machine came with pop up blocker.

As for mail, I havent used Microsoft or my providers mail in years.....We used to skip around with our providers quite a bit to get best deals, so I have used Hotmail, Yahoo mail etc (web based email)....That way if you change providers, you dont lose your stored emails. I am not Hillary Clinton, so my email is not of that big a concern.

Well, I now have Win 10 installed, and so far I like it better than Win7.  Things are pretty much the same, except easier to find things than before.  No pop-ups so far using Chrome, and speed is same or better.

Did the 10 thing on Friday, seems fine and the apps seem like a good bonus.

It did away with my built in games (hardly ever used anyway), but I can download most for free.  I sometimes play Mahjong, and I'm downloading it now.

I have my wife's laptop downloading Win 10 as I type.  That Win 8.1 is a complete nightmare, but now I'll be able to figure things out when things go wrong.  Before I couldn't find anything without getting a massive headache.

That was the issue for me.  I'm used to mine, and hers was foreign to me.  Win 8.1 is foreign to most everyone else too!

The more I use Win 10, the more I like it!  Teresa is sure glad I upgraded her laptop too.

Joey just downloaded WIN10 on her laptop without me knowing it. I sure it works out OK, because I'm still on WIN 7 on my machines.

I'm not seeing any real difference 95% of the time.

Can Win10 be set up to look like Win7 and not like Win8. I can handle the way 8 operates?

Mine looks just like Win 7 on the home screen.  The difference is minimal with the most noticed being in the lower left "Start" button.  When you click on it, there are some tiles, but most is close to the same as Win 7 there also.

Like I said, I hardly notice the difference.
