Do any of you eat something unusual for T'giving? I'll bet Auburn David has a Hungarian - Native Amer. delicacy.

We will al be at Mom and Dads house. Mom insists on a Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving. Everyone at one table. Well this year with guests the count will be 24 at one table.

Really pretty traditional here. Ham and turkey, taters, sweet potatoes( break from tradition, not candied).
Usual deserts, my favorite is the sweet potato struseal pie.

That looks great! Being land locked just as you are I know what a special and not inexpensive treat that is.
We try to do it a few times a year, but budget and set back for it.

The ball with twine on it is chorizo sausage. We get the ground sausage and it goes in right away, so it needs to be tied up or it will disintegrate.

Today's boil was really good, used more fresh ingredients for the spices. The ear corn was only so-so, tis not the season of course. I don't know who liked it better, the kids or the adults! I know only having to clean up the boiling pot and a large serving pan is a big hit with my mother.

Smoked deer meatloaf. Sorry no pics.. but you have all seen a meatloaf, so you can guess what it looks like.

"Black Friday" is an un recognized holiday here, it has been changed to "Sausage Fest" where a half a dozen guys get together and make deer sausage/ jerky from this years harvest and consume adult beverages.
