I spotted this Bolens on Gumtree (Ireland). The seller say it's the rare G11 one. I copied some photos to see what your thoughts are. For such a rarity the owner have put Massey's decals on....... I could be tempted but it is in Ireland but is a lot closer than the USA!

Hard to tell by those pics, the only thing that was unique to them was the decals, if we had the numbers off the tractor we could tell for sure.

Actually there are a couple of things that are unique to the G11 other than the decals.

The seat for one, and this one has the proper seat to be a G11.

The other is the brake band on the PTO, which this tractor also has.

I'm pretty danged sure that it is a G11.

Those Massey decals don't do it any good for sure.  They belong on a red tractor.

1155 would make it a G11... See if you can get the serial to.

Rare?  Aren't these just one of there "Cheap" models near their end days? More of a Lawn Tractor, than GT?  No expert here, that is the body styles that I like, the "plastic" white ones, but like the bigger ones and hydros.  I'm thinking just a cheapened up model to sell more. Is this Vertical engine then too?

They are more of a collectors item for us Bolens nuts, kind of a bizarre thing they did to the decals which no one really knows the reason behind it.

You are correct that they were basically the same structurally as the G10's and similar.

The G9, G10, and G11 did lack a feature or two that the majority of the tube frames had.

They used an idler for a clutch, as opposed to a true clutch, and they lacked the controlled rear end.

Other than that they were true garden tractors and had the horizontal shaft engines just like the other tube frames.

They are on the rare side as we know of only about a dozen or so 'in captivity'.

I'll also note that we have never seen one with a 4 digit serial number.  The highest we have seen is in the 800s.

Yep! Looked back and see was metal, but has same colors as the other plastic models. Must have been transition time or whatever?  Never Mind! As noted, no expert on the brand, just like the later plastic hood models in white and green.

I know, but I got a severe case of Bolensitis again.....

I am hoping to get some figures from several pallets companies tomorrow. Already had one quote from a courier for £865........

I have asked for some details about it but yet to hear from the seller.
