Pretty neat machine, but I have to wonder why in the world it isn't equipped with a diesel engine?

I saw one of those Dixie Choppers in a repair shop once, had about a 72" deck on it and was powered with 2 yes two 25hp Kohler Vtwins, the dash had 2 vacuum gauges on it. They say those mowers are the fastest grass cutters around because they have the highest blade tip speed, much more than the others.

A friend of mine has one of the older ones, single engine though. He was visiting the Dixie chopper booth at the local fair when another potential buyer came to speak with the salesman, Tom said "You don't want one of these." The salesperson had a shocked look on his face, thinking that Tom loved his mower, but held his tongue. The prospective customer asked Tom "Why's that?". Tom replied "Before I bought my Dixie Chopper, I used to spend my days at work dreaming of coming home and making love to my wife. Now all I do is dream of coming home to cut my grass". I get the impression that he does indeed love his Dixie Chopper! I'm pretty sure that was when I decided that one day I would own one, though that day hasn't come yet.
