I went to Home Depot today for some fencing. I happened to notice that they now sell Ariens tractors there. I checked out the GT Ariens. It had a 25 hp engine. These are still made by Ariens, right?

I'm wondering if it would be able to plow and do other ground engaging things? Anyone have one? It looked good, but I did not look very closely, as I wasn't in the market. What Hydro unit does it have?

Wow, I didn't know Home Depot was selling them. Should have got some pics :D

I would have to check out their site or something because I have no idea if they are made by Ariens anymore or not.

Good luck getting much info from Ariens' web site. What IS there wasn't very impressive, last I looked.

Woo, Ariens is still building equipment in Brillion WI.
Maybe contracting some "cheap" stuff out to subs for big box stores.
Good way to wreck your good name.

I was at Home Depot again today, and I took a picture of the Big GT.

I wonder if you can get a sleeve hitch for it, kinda doubt it. If I had more money than I knew what to do with I would pick one up, weight it down, take it to a plow day and work the crap out of it just to see how it would hold up.

It's an AYP/Sears GT5000/Husquvarna GT 54/JD LA/ Big Box Glorifed lawn tractor. It does have the Tuff Torx 66 hydro, and will accept Sears 3pt and sleeve hitch. As an Ariens and New Holland owner I was hoping for the return of the 931 series like the ones I have. Instead a Big Box piece of Junk!
