Tube frame snow blower differences

I have a 1974 G14 with a yellow/tan square chute snow blower. When I was growing up my Dad had a 1976 bicentennial with flag decals G12. It had a black/white round chute snow blower. I see all different colors around green/white, red/white, yellow/tan, black/white, square chute, & round chute.

What are the differences & which is better ? Thanks.

Early ones were Gold , 60's used Yellow , 1970 they switched to a 'Round back' design that threw the snow much more efficiently and were red in color  , 1973 they changed a few more things  then made them black in color to match the new paint scheme of that era
