After owning my 1050 for 18 years I acquired a dis assembled mower deck which I have put together over the last couple of years. I didn't paint it just cleaned it up as the tractor is not very shiny.  I did put new bearing blades belt etc. into the deck.  Now I need to find the linkage to mount it to the tractor.  So maybe by spring I will be able to cut some grass with it.

I know looks tad goofy mocking up mower to a tractor with tire chains.  In this area I see more snow in the next 6 months than green grass.

Deck looks in good shape, you should be able to find the linkage on the forum or eBay. Just need to get the "correct" linkage for that deck.

That is my kind of tractor.  A good solid working natural looking machine.  All the prettiness don't make them run a bit better.

You guys ever have bald moment? :wallbanging: I bought 2 1050's and the mower deck at the same time.  Who would have thought go look at one those for linkage.  My other running 1050 has all the linkage required.  :dancingbanana:

Had today off so worked in the shop all day. :bounce: Mower is mounted ready to try out.  BUT.  I noticed the carb was dripping gas as it sat there so I took the carb apart.  The gasket was soaked and fell apart.  Now I can't even try the mower deck see how it sounds.  Of course freezing temperatures and skiff of snow won't be mowing anything for a while but at least it will be ready.  Now to find a gasket.

I PM you soon.

For now I took carb off a parts tractor.  Only problem is the PTO drives all the time.  I think the belts must be a size to small.  What is used to keep the Universal joint on the PTO? A roll pin or a bolt?

One thing to check is your PTO adjustment, the three bolts holding the pto assembly on the frame can be loosened and the assembly can be raised or lowered, if you still have trouble you need some new Belts

Another thing to check is to make sure the belt guide is in place on the engine pulley.
