Doc appointment was this morning to go over my blood test results. They confirmed I am diabetic, BUT, so close to the line he's not going to label me as diabetic because I'm losing weight & my glucose is in the perfect range due to my new "junkless" diet, and also due to the fact I do NOT need any medications to control it. Everything looking great. Blood pressure is always good, today 126/76.
To be honest, my diet isn't junk free really....just not much junk. I used to pig-out on chocolate, chips, & the like...now just a little bit of junk. The good thing is that "I" got it under control...no additional meds! He said later that with my better eating, I may go off the statins for cholesterol!:bounce:

Over the last couple of years, I have really tried to watch my diet. Mostly, wife and I cut out most junk, eat lighter (we split meals at the restaurants), and DEFINITELY stay away from soft drinks. We've found that if you really limit intake of corn syrup and other corn additives (hidden as lots of different weird-sounding stuff), that helps a lot. But, what you find is: IT'S EVERYWHERE!!!

I am thoroughly convinced that DIET is the key to good health. Put those GARDEN TRACTORS to work in a GARDEN, and eat well!

Good luck, olcowhand, with yours!

That is good news! I started the South Beach diet last year and have lost 55lbs. I also switched over to sugarfree Hersheys and Reeses. They taste just as good to me.

WAY TO GO, DANIEL. You've done great to get this under control in such a short time. I know people that never do, they just go on more and more meds. You should be proud!!!

As I said in a blog, today was very long, hard, & hot finishing haylage chopping. BUT, before I stepped in the shower I figured to weigh.......Below 212! I weighed exactly 211 & 3/4lbs. That's a 21 & 1/4 loss! I love it!!!!!!!

That's great news, Daniel. You're doing really good! I've lost a bunch too. It does feel good to have the scale going in the "right" direction!

WooHoo...finally broke below 210lbs! That makes over 23lb lost so far. We have several gateposts set off from building just enough to pass through, but things had been getting a bit snug. I can breeze right on through them now! Can't wait to get below 200, but it'll be a while. The weight dropped quick at first, but now it's the slower grind dropping more. I will lose more though as I'm committed.
