About like the smart phones?  Most are made in China and do you trust China to honor your privacy?   Not on your life I don't.

Boy you need a shave :D

As for the TV, I wonder what they think when I walk through the living room in my skivvies.

For one thing, I don't watch any tv........ And if some one saw me in my skivvies, what ever they are, I am sure they would not look very long, and be on to the next person with skivvies, what ever they are. !! Noel

It's greed like this that will hurt the industry. Black eyes like this will be something to make the customers jittery about buying a good TV. I feel fairly certain that LG is collecting info, but I am glad to hear they aren't linking devices or logging IP's

Another reason to be wary of Vizio... Repairs.
If the seller is honest, you won't be happy with the process or the liability thrust upon the consumer.

Been looking for a replacement shop 32" tv and ran across this article. No internet in the shop except for wireless back to the house. My issue is finding a 32" that has a VGA and RGB inputs, All seem to have HDMI, which I need to purchase additional converters for my VCR, DVD, and Laptop

And now they don't.
Might look at the 28 and 40" units. Saw a smaller one just a couple weeks back with a hd15 on it.

Yep, laptops, phones, cameras on telephone poles, it's everywhere and most people are in the dark or in denial.

Some phone apps can turn on your camera or your voice recorder without you knowing about it, the flashlight app was a big one for this. Some of the photo cloud apps are also guilty.

A lot of people do not know, all cell phones are built with a small hidden chip in them, the provider can access your info at anytime with a key stroke or when told by the govmnt. While it's not an everyday occurrence, they have the ability to do it.
