You guys in Eastern Iowa need to get everything tied down that could possibly blow away.  You are in for real nasty winds tonight and early morning.  Even possibly a tornado.  Has passed us in SW Iowa but damage still being reported.  Several semi's have been blown off the road, roof and tree damage.  My weather station recorded a high gust of 48.8 mph this afternoon.Red Oak, just 28 miles West of me reported 65 mph winds.  They are kicking up real good here again with light rain and 40+ winds.  Just be ready for it when it gets there.

They have downgraded ours from a " shingle ripper " to just a " tumble weed express " .

It went through St Joe about 1:15 this afternoon, wind & some rain.  When we got home I had to tie the neighbor's TV cable up so I could get in our drive!  Only saw several small branches down at home, but roof & tree damage in the area.  Just a 1/4" of rain though.

Kris, you need to cut up those dead trees and burn them for heat.  Then the wind would not destroy you" transportation".  Still talking strong straight line winds out of the NW for today.  Up to 45 mph gusts.  Need to split up a little wood on the South side of a small building.  Then move inside after the mail shows up with a new coil.  33 wind chill this morning.  About time to get the long johns out of the bottom of the drawer.

Our advisory is for 25-30 MPH with gusts up to 50.  Seems like its toned down since it left you in Iowa.  Either that or our hills slow down the wind!

Missed most of it here. There was a tornado set down at Prairie City about 14 miles SW. And Knoxville 20 miles south.
Here we just had high winds. I found 1 piece of aluminum flashing on the deck, one of my 3 garbage cans is still Mia.
And there are yard toys scattered, I gave to collect. But nothing too serious.
Still suppose to be high winds through today.
