It's rust all around but the steel is good and all the mechanical parts like pulleys and levers work.  I'm pretty sure the engine is toast.  It isn't seized but it grinds and the lifter cap is missing.  I can see inside the engine and its all rusty inside as well.  It looks like it would make a great restoration piece.

What is it worth if I were to restore it?

Is it worth anything?

If you restore it yourself and do a good paint job after buying an engine and the tractor you may get 700 not a lot of profit.

Maybe comparing apples to oranges but I bought this S14 last spring at auction for [I think] $210.

700?  Have to be h*** of a good resore for that. Thinking most S series rough on go for 2 or 300 at most, and even when more running and with attachments only around $500.  I've bought many Speedex of later models, rarely over $250, but then rebuild and  probly will never get back all put in the old rigs. I've seen some on epay asking $1000 and never have one bid. Some guy wanted $2000 for his Buy it now price, he is dreaming. Mine was highest bid at $102.50, didn't meet reserve. He was way out of line. Can't even make on offer here w/out pictures also, please post. Most Speedex seem to be in NE Ohio or PA area. That is where many of mine have come from.

As stated above....It is difficult to make a bunch of money on a restored machine unless all you have to do is paint it and even then your time adds up! Just my $0.02...........
