I hate to post this and start a bidding war. Remember the 1800.00 starting bid doesn't meet reserve. AND he'll crate it for shipping for only 165.00. Living proof that you can ask anything. Selling it is a different matter!

I'm no expert in walk behinds or Speedex but that doesn't look like an original engine on that machine.  It may very well be but something just strikes me odd about it.

How do you suppose a Speedex got to Huntington Beach, California?

I was thinking the same thing. I forwarded it to a Speedex collector and asked him earlier but haven't heard back yet.

I don't know diddly about 2 wheel ones, but the tractors always did look about 20yrs behind in design.  That does look like about a Late  60's Briggs, but no expert here. 5hp maybe? It IS the same color as the rest of it, heh! Speedex used Briggs a lot for tractors at least.  Now wonder if someone can tell me if the engine slides to tighten belt and be clutch on these also? Tractors did for most years, just wondered if same mechanicals here?  Think it has more sentimetal value to family and you can't sell that at any price and be happy.
