Anyone familiar with this model?  I gave $5 for it at an estate sale around the corner from the house.  Got it home and then realized it is a Tecumseh 4HP 2 stroke motor.  I believe it is a 1986 model but will do some more digging.

That was my thought too.  It is a solid machine.  Seems pretty easy to push.

Dad's here from Ohio and we decided to mess with this thing today.  It runs but it takes one pumping the primer to keep it going.  I am going to drain the tank, replace the fuel line, and rebuild the carb.  When it did run, it was strong and not as loud as I expected.

The engine info is: TVS840-8018C 0234G

Sending Bolens a message about a carb kit too.

Making progress!  Brian has some of what I need and can get the rest once I figure out some more details.

Brian has me hooked up with what I need to do a rebuild including a new plug and fixed jet.  I am going to grab some Seafoam and run that thru it to see if it will smooth things out until the parts arrive.  I will also get some pics of this beast running for those who have never encountered one.  Definitely new to me.

Depending on how this one works, I may have found a suitable replacement for the "old faithful" LawnBoy... :watch_over_fence:
