Is there a manual somewhere that describes the internal parts of the Snapper 1600 transaxle?  Mine is leaking and I would like that before I tear into it.  Also, it seems like I've read somewhere that the internal gears are plastic.  Is this true?  If so, is there some aftermarket metal replacements for them?

Thanks!

I believe that it is a Peerless and there is a manual for it in the Manuals Section under Transmissions. Good Luck, Rick

I got that manual, but I couldn't find anywhere about what the gears are made of.

Does anyone know where I can get the gaskets for the transaxle?

I have never seen any GT transmissions with plastic gears.

Hey guys!  Any thoughts on this?  Anyone know if this is a gasket leaking, and if so, where to get a new one?  I want to rectify this before I paint it and put it back together.  Thanks!

Here's a break down of that trans, you likely need to replace the axle seal

When you say "axle seal", are you referring to the Oil Seal and Retainer?  Parts #87 and #154?
