Now that reminds me of my wife's uncle Stan. He refused to drive anywhere we were going! Said driving interferred with his spotting all the good stuff in farmers junk piles!
And you know anything you might be looking for, Stan could tell you where one was sitting.

:ditto: Why would you throw a reasonably good tractor in the Dumpster? Nice save, folks!

I don't own any, but I have always thought that style of Case was so tough looking with the big rear tires.

Adam was just talking about all these stories he reads of good finds in scrap yards and wondered if that would happen to him. I think he should buy me a couple lottery tickets....

I just reread this thread and figured out that this line here, was directed at me lol. Don't worry Adam, you done good. :D

You guys made an excellent spot, dive and save! It looks to be in pretty nice shape. My wife's uncle has a 446 and they are quite a tractor. Congrats on saving one more from the scrappers .

WOW! What a dumpster find! Nothing like that in dumpsters around here....not that I've seen anyway. That Case is in really good condition too!

This reminds me of how I got a lathe for free a number of years ago. They were clearing out an old building and had shoved a rather large metal lathe into a dumpster like that, it was well over 1500lbs total weight. When I asked if I could buy it the guy told me that if I could get it out of the dumpster it was mine. Me and a buddy sat there looking at it and came up with the idea to jack up the dumpster on one side far enough to be able to back up with a tow truck and grab onto the lathe. That night it was in my shop.

I'll never understand why anyone would junk any thing like that, whether its a tractor, machine, or other equipment that can still be fixed or used.
