I am now the happy owner of an Jacobsen Chief 1000, my guess is that it is a 1969. Since there is a mysterious knocking noise from the transaxle I guess I have to fix that before the snow arrives.

I haven't thought about if the tyres are mounted the wrong way, l will check that tomorrow, thanks for the hint.

They look like they just need be switched side to side. They look like atv tread pattern but it could be the angle of the photo.
