I have never heard of this company before. It was made in Jersey Shore Pa and is called the wiseacre tractor and has a briggs 8R6 that was made in November of 1956. I'm stumped. Google has also showed me nothing, so I am coming to many knowledgeable people on here!

Here is a pic of the tag.

At first it was called "Baumgardner" but sales were lacking, so they changed the name to "Wiseacre"

Sales improved somewhat.

:deadhorse:

I'll stop trying to be funny now

Do you have a pic of the entire unit?

lol! No I don't have a pic of the whole unit as it is in pieces now. The tag was on a belt shield that went from the tranny to the engine.

Oh my God!!!!!!!!.I have 2 Wiseacre's I live just a few miles from where they were made. I also have a garden plow, sickle bar, buzz saw, and spike tooth harrow made by them. From the research I have done so far, I found that the company was incorporated in April of 1948 and they were in bankruptcy by November of 1948. I have court documents that Jersey Shore State Bank sued them in 1948 over a default loan. Where are you located. I need to know more about this one. The engine should be a clinton with a 6:1 gear reduction. I am hoping to have one of mine restored for loyalsock next year. The original color would be a light blue similar to the panzer tractors.

Have any pictures??? I am in mifflintown pa. This one had a briggs 8R6 that dated to 1956 but that may not be correct. I have another 8r6 I'm going to put in it for now as the original was bad in the crankcase due to a broken rod. I need a rim for it as well since one was rotted almost completely off. This sat outside for many years so it is very rough. I don't have any attachments for it either.
