I have a sunrunner,my second, and it is going to be a restoration project but will used to mow also. I am having problems with it completely filling the carb with fuel. I am going to do a carb rebuild but it just seems impossible for it to put that much fuel in the carb. The float and float valve seem to be fine. Also the ignition switch was gone and I got a universal switch. When I have got it to run long enough to check, I'm not getting the correct wires to have voltage according to the schematics I've downloaded. Any help would be appreciated! I don't know what year it is but the model number is 1691458. 12hp Briggs I/C 42" deck 5 speed.

Have you checked your fuel pump to ensure that its the correct one for your motor?

Have you checked to see if your fuel shutoff solenoid on the bottom of your carb hasn't been removed and is operating properly?
